Photography Apprentice / Assistant
Designed for photographers at the very beginning of their journey who are looking to step inside a real wedding day environment.
This role is focused on observing, assisting, and learning the natural flow of a wedding day from the inside - gaining firsthand exposure to how a day is led, how moments are anticipated, and how a seamless client experience is delivered.
You’ll be alongside me in real time, experiencing the pace, decision-making, and behind-the-scenes dynamics that can’t be taught outside of the field.
This is an unpaid, experience-based opportunity, intended for those who are serious about growing within the wedding space and understand the value of proximity and hands-on learning.

Wedding Mentorship +
IN-FIELD EXPERIENCE
For photographers who are more established and ready to step into the wedding space — or refine and elevate their current approach.
This mentorship combines real-time, in-field experience on a wedding day with focused consulting designed to help you build a successful wedding photography business.
This is a complete program, built around 5 key pillars:
* Positioning & Transitioning
Moving from general photography into weddings with clarity and direction
* Client Experience & Sales
Understanding what clients are looking for and building a sales process that converts
* Workflow & Delivery
Managing a wedding day from start to finish with consistency and intention
* Business & Financial Foundations
Structuring your business for profitability, including pricing and tax awareness
* In-Field Application
Joining me on a live wedding day to see how it all comes together in real time
This experience includes:
* 4 hours of dedicated consulting (broken into structured sessions)
* 1 full wedding day (up to 8 hours) of in-field experience
This is not just about learning how to shoot weddings — it’s about understanding how to build, run, and sustain a wedding photography business that actually works.

Second Shooter
For confident wedding photographers who are comfortable shooting independently and working within a timeline. Second shooters collaborate closely with me on wedding days, contributing to coverage while maintaining a shared approach to storytelling and professionalism. Coverage may be part-day or full-day, depending on the wedding.

My Mentorship Philosophy
Mentorship at Due North is rooted in presence, curiosity, and lived experience. It’s an invitation to step inside real wedding days — not to perform or prove yourself, but to observe, participate, and learn in a space where there is room to try, ask questions, and make mistakes without pressure.
My approach is hands-on and human. You’ll be alongside me as the day unfolds — watching how decisions are made in real time, how energy is read and held, and how calm confidence carries a wedding forward. We’ll move through the day together, talk things through as they happen, and learn by doing, feeling, and being part of the experience.
This isn’t about rigid systems or “getting it right.” It’s about understanding the why — how to show up with intention, communicate with care, and build trust with the people around you. Technical skill matters, but so does how you collaborate, adapt, and care for the humans in front of you.
Whether you’re assisting with setup and golden hour portraits, joining for a ride-along to focus on specific parts of the day, or shadowing a full wedding (or several), this mentorship is designed to meet you where you are. You’ll be included, supported, and genuinely part of the day — not brushed aside or left on the sidelines.
We’ll laugh, we’ll learn, and we’ll do this work together — in a way that feels grounded, generous, and true to who you are becoming.
