My work blends documentary storytelling with a warm, natural approach. I offer gentle guidance where needed, but I’m never chasing overly posed "perfection" - I’m looking for truth. The real expressions. The in-between moments. The energy that makes your story yours.
Photography wasn’t my first career. I built a successful path in the corporate world before a life pivot created space to reimagine what was possible. In that space, creativity became more than a side interest - it became the direction.
Today, I call Innisfil home near the shores of Lake Simcoe. Life is full - two daughters, an incredible partner/best friend (+ often second shooter) - two bonus boys, and a pug named Henry. I recharge through spontaneous adventures, time by the water, and quiet resets at my off-grid cottage in Quebec.
When you step in front of my camera, my intention is simple: create an environment so safe and effortless that you forget you’re being photographed.
The best images don’t come from perfect posing.
They come from presence.

My approach
My approach is rooted in presence and trust. I work in a documentary style, allowing the day to unfold naturally while stepping in with gentle guidance when it matters most. I’m deeply attuned to the energy of the room — knowing when to observe quietly and when to offer direction so you feel comfortable, confident, and fully yourselves. The result is imagery that feels honest and lived-in: emotional moments, thoughtful details, and the in-between interactions that often become the most meaningful memories.

If there was an option to give more than 5 stars, I would use it. Elyse has been SUCH a pleasure to plan with and work with. She seriously goes above and beyond, and I am extremely grateful that she was able to photograph our special day for us.
You can plainly see Elyse's pure talent in her online portfolio, but what you may not see until you meet her is her ability to communicate effectively about her vision, make everyone comfortable in front of the camera lens, and collaborate with other creatives like the videographer to ensure everything is working as a well-oiled machine.
We have never felt more beautiful than the photographs Elyse took of us, and for that, we will always be thankful.
